Prepare hibernation (yes, already) and reinforce immune system.. For all those who start caughing, sneeze, are all white and tired, and wish they could stay all day in bed cocooning, I have some ideas to share…
Even better than Nutella or Ovomaltine, better than bread and better (although..) , here are 3 fantastic smoothies, ready in 5′ to boost yourself or calm down..
Vitamins C 1000 Smoothie: Orange Curcuma Persimmon. To start the day with full energy and stay immune to all surrounding germs : mix one fresh orange juice+ 1/2 persimmon (season is starting)+ grated curcuma. Fresh curcuma exhales delicious scents of fresh fig leave and roots. It has been used in Ayurveda for ages for its anti-oxydant and anti-inflammatory properties. Eaten on regular basis it will help your immune system be more resistant and contribute to prevent numerous types of cancer. If you don’t have any, you can also grate some ginger. Chinese Traditional Medicine values it for its drying and warming qualities. It is especially recommended to ingest some in autumn.
Smoothie 1000 Volts : Creamy walnuts and dates coffee : mix 3 walnuts+ 3 dates+ coffee (I poured half expresso) in a big water glass. No need for milk, the walnuts will result in a delicious vegetal milk and combine with coffee perfectly. The foam is superb and you can savour the bottom as a candy. A pinch of raw cacao, cardamom or cinnamon will do marvels to enhance all flavours. This smoothie is a natural and healthy energizer : sweet dates, magnesium from walnuts, caffeine from the espresso of course. Smooth, comforting, onctuous, for me it qualifies much more than a chocolate bar
Pistacchio Neroli Honey Nectar : For evening craves, a smoothie blending the narcotic flavours of pistacchio and orange blossom water..Mix 1 ss of pistachio+ 1 ts of orange blossom water in a big warm glass of water. Add some drops of honey.. One single sip takes you straight to 1001 Nights Arabian land…
Nuts (almonds, walnuts, pistacchio, hazelnuts…) are loaded with magnesium and anti-oxydants nutrients. They are instrumental in managing stress and exhaustion. Sometimes discarded because considered to calorific, you will benefit and retrieve the most of them in these vegetal milks . Good mood, nice skin, what are you waiting for?
Did you know that soaking them beforehand (between 4-8h) will help them be more easily digested, while facilitating their nutrients assimilation ? Nuts contain some enzymes that can slow down digestion and diminish the assimilation of nutrients (esp. iron and calcium). Soaking them will activate the germination process and partially neutralize the enzymes. A simple way to handle this would be soaking them in a bowl before going to bed, so that they will be ready for breakfast.
